GSSA Director and Head Coach Jeff Hackett recently set up a trial with English Women’s Professional Club Liverpool Ladies for Farkhunda Muhtaj.
Farkhunda, who has been training with GSSA since 2013 excels with speed of movement, speed of thought, explosive attacking flair with a complement of precise passes and the ability to shoot with pace and accuracy. Gifted technically, her intensity and high level of concentration were evident. Farkhunda has an excellent game attitude including dominating an opponent, competing for the ball, recovering from setbacks, executing defensive responsibility and the ability to communicate effectively with teammates and coaches.
Farkhunda performed well at the trial which was over a 2-day period and she definitely caught the eye of the Liverpool Ladies staff led by Coach Vicky Jepson. Farkhunda has been requested to return for the new preseason. In addition to her professional trial, Farkhunda played with GSSA seniors, who were on their annual Pro Clubs Academy Tour of England, in 2 games and performed admirably from all accounts.
The Football Association Women’s Super League is the highest league of women’s football in England. The league consists of two divisions, the WSL 1 and the WSL 2. It is run by the Football Association and began in April 2011.
All of us at GSSA which Farkhunda all the very best. She is so deserving of the exposure and her success including a Canadian national women’s team trial.
