Global Satellite Soccer Academy Tour of England 2025: A Lifelong Experience
The Global Satellite Soccer Academy (GSSA) tour of England was an unforgettable experience for all participants, marked by a combination of professional football training, exciting games, stadium tours, and cultural exploration. This once-in-a-lifetime opportunity was offered to our Academy as a guest of Fleetwood Town FC, and the entire tour proved to be an enriching journey both on and off the pitch.
Training and Games
The tour began with training sessions held at Fleetwood Town FC, where GSSA players received invaluable coaching from professional coaches at one of England’s rising football clubs. These sessions were designed to hone technical skills, improve tactical understanding, and build the players’ confidence on the ball. The Fleetwood Town FC coaches provided expert guidance, offering tailored advice to each player that would prove beneficial on the field and beyond.
Our players also had the chance to test their skills in live match environments. The GSSA team played friendly games against Tranmere FC and Fleetwood Town FC. These games allowed players to apply the lessons learned during training, competing against some of the best young talent in England and gaining insight into the level of professionalism required at the highest levels of football.
A unique addition to the tour was a futsal game against Fylde Coastal Futsal, which provided a fun yet competitive opportunity to engage in a fast-paced version of the game, enhancing footwork and decision-making under pressure.
Our players were very impressed with the teamwork, communication, work ethic and camaraderie of the professional academy teams. These teams were closely knit and all the players whether starters or subs were encouraged and entrusted to play significant roles and to be game changers.
Stadium Tours and Match Attendance

The tour began with a visit to Fleetwood Town FC’s Highbury Stadium. This was an extraordinary experience, offering a unique insight into one of England’s most exciting and community-focused football clubs. As part of the Global Satellite Soccer Academy (GSSA) tour, this stadium tour provided an unforgettable glimpse behind the scenes of Fleetwood Town’s impressive facilities, rich history, and the passion that drives the club’s success.
Standing pitch side was an incredibly memorable moment. The lush green grass and the immaculate condition of the field showcased the club’s commitment to maintaining high standards. For the GSSA players, this was a chance to imagine themselves playing on the same field where Fleetwood Town’s professionals battle every week. Our players viewed it impressively despite not being able to walk on the sacred pitch. The connection between the players and the game became even stronger as they took in the atmosphere of this tightly knit football community.
A highlight for many players was the opportunity to visit two of the most iconic football stadiums in the world. The first stop was Old Trafford, the legendary home of Manchester United FC. Our players were treated to a comprehensive tour of the stadium, including the locker rooms, players’ tunnel, and the hallowed turf where many footballing legends have graced the field.
The second major stadium tour took place at Etihad Stadium, home to Manchester City FC. The state-of-the-art facilities and history of the club were on full display as players explored the stadium and learned about Manchester City’s success in recent years.
The tour also included a memorable match experience: Manchester City vs. Brighton. GSSA players, staff and parents watched the Premier League clash in person, soaking in the electrifying atmosphere of one of the most successful football teams in the world. The excitement of being in the stands, watching world-class players in action, and chanting the songs on the home team was a dream come true for all of us.
Cultural Experiences and Sightseeing
Off the pitch, the tour included exciting sightseeing opportunities in two of England’s most famous cities: Liverpool and Blackpool.
In Liverpool, players had the chance to visit the Liverpool FC souvenir shop, a must-see for any Reds fan. The shop offered an extensive range of memorabilia, and the kids and the attending parents had the chance to purchase exclusive merchandise to remember their trip.
Our group also enjoyed the bright lights and famous attractions of Blackpool, including the Blackpool Tower and its thrilling amusement arcades. The participants stayed at the luxurious Village Hotel in Blackpool, a 5-star establishment that provided a relaxing and comfortable base after days full of action.
Travel and Accommodations
Traveling from Canada to Manchester and back via Air Transat was part of the adventure, with the long flight offering plenty of time for reflection on the incredible experiences that awaited and subsequently remembered.
